Pike County’s ‘wet’ quest falls short of needed signatures

The Vote Pike County Wet effort officially declared this week that the effort to place county alcohol sales on the November 2026 ballot has come up short.
The group said that ultimately they had more supporters than signed petitions, including some from outside the county.
By press deadline, the group said they ultimately acquired almost 1,400 signed petitions of the 2,291 required petitions, but that fact showed substantial support toward the issue.
“Time ran out — we had less volunteers than four years ago, but volunteers we had tried hard and worked diligently.
We will not be making the deadline for ballot access,” said group spokeswoman Lisa Harvill.
