Algood voters elected Tiffany Anton as the community’s new mayor, signaling a desire for a new direction for the municipality. Anton said she is eager to begin her service to the community after receiving 43 percent of the vote. “I was really concerned that Algood has stayed kind of what it’s stayed, status quo for so long,” Anton said. Anton said she intends to leverage her existing professional relationship with Morrison to determine the next steps for the city. “I spent the day with our city council candidates as well and so I’m really excited to work with Dan and Bryan and I just, I’m really, I think there’s a bright future for Algood,” Anton said.
