Police have removed another firearm and sixteen rounds of ammunition from circulation, following an operation carried out in Frenches by members of the tactical units of the Police Force. The operation also resulted in the seizure of more than 30 kilogrammes of cannabis. According to a news release from the Police, on Saturday, August 1, tactical officers executed a search warrant at the residence of Deryck Chambers, a 41-year-old farmer of Frenches. During the search, officers seized one firearm, eleven rounds of .38 ammunition, five rounds of .32 ammunition and 30,872 grammes of cannabis. Chambers was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of a firearm without a licence issued under the Firearms Act, two counts of possession of ammunition without a licence, possession of a controlled drug and drug trafficking.
