With the prices for school supplies and clothes continuing to rise, Helping Hands of Trigg County was back at Hancock’s Neighborhood Market on Thursday afternoon, raising funds to outfit students for the upcoming school year. During the two-hour live broadcast on WKDZ’s Live Afternoon Drive, the community contributed more than $11,800, with more donations expected in the coming days. Up to 300 children will receive a $100 clothing allowance for the upcoming school year, according to Helping Hands’ K.G. The families will shop this coming Monday at the Walmart Supercenter in Hopkinsville. Ariagno said the shopping process lasts the entire day.
