They unleashed their surprise during Thursday morning’s ribbon-cutting of the new Christian County High School, when aspiring musicians let loose the new fight song in Hopkinsville Rotary Arena — one arranged by incoming CCHS junior Alijandro Valdez. After being contacted by CCHS Band Director Anthony Darnall about the opportunity, Valdez set to work. Now, like many other firsts for the district, he will be the answer to local trivia questions, asking, “Who arranged that popular fight song for CCHS?” After the school tour, Valdez admitted he had a little bias, noting the band room is his favorite area. He loves music, and he wants to write more for CCHS.
