Valley Springs, CA—Fire crews are making strides on the Gann Fire burning near New Hogan Lake in the Valley Springs area of Calaveras County as the containment climbs and the acreage grows by just ten acres, allowing some evacuees to return to their homes. CAL FIRE reports that the containment has reached 33 percent while the acreage grew by just ten acres to 10,384 acres. Additionally, some evacuated residents have been allowed to return to their homes (click here for those zone details). The Red Cross can assist residents who have homes that were damaged or destroyed if it meets their criteria. Residents have up to 14 days to contact the Red Cross for help after the shelters close, with a few exceptions.
