Bob Seabrook, 88, of Frinton, suffered the stroke in Colchester Hospital in August last year and was deemed fit to be discharged to Little Holland Hall nursing home two months later. Essex Coroner’s Court heard hospital staff prepared an early discharge summary so the care home knew what treatment Mr Seabrook needed, but his discharge was delayed by a month. The inquest heard Mr Seabrook’s condition soon deteriorated after he left hospital and he was re-admitted on November 23. Mr Seabrook, who spent much of his life in Billericay before retiring to Frinton, was described by son Paul as "a sweet, polite, gentle person with a heart of gold". Giving evidence to coroner Robin Weyell, physiotherapist Ben Penney – who treated Mr Seabrook at Colchester Hospital – said he would have expected the care home to have been provided details of how he should be treated.
