Sandisfield — Through its Facebook page on Thursday, August 6, the town announced that Fire Department Chief Michael Grillo will no longer serve as chief. The announcement did not indicate whether or not Grillo was fired or if he quit, and did not explain the circumstances behind the situation. According to the announcement, Deputy Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director Chris Colonair will serve as Acting Fire Chief. The Sandisfield Fire Department remains fully operational, and residents should expect no interruption to fire, EMS, or emergency response services. The Town has full confidence in the department’s officers, firefighters, EMTs, and other personnel and appreciates their continued professionalism, dedication, and commitment to serving the Sandisfield community.”
