Mommy Is Busy [A Better You / Issue 1004]Shona Kaisman-Schwartz’s piece this week on ADHD-like patterns and screen time was tremendously enlightening. The part that struck me hardest was this: I hear mothers (not me, of course, but definitely other mothers, you know?) Even in a non-tech heavy household, our kids are still growing up in a tech world, and no, kids today simply don’t know how to self-entertain the way their parents did. (Let’s not even go near the topic of parents and screen time…)But here’s the kicker. The bottom line is that very few mothers today are actually baking cookies with their kids, rolling out play dough, or shaping kinetic sand.
