Why T-Pain Says Selling His Music Catalog Was the Right Move

The Grammy-winning singer and producer recently shared the personal reason behind selling his publishing catalog and select master rights to HarbourView Equity Partners in February 2025.
But he argued that the value of music has changed dramatically since streaming became the main way people listen.
“I’m not leaving my kids’ future in the hands of the music industry at f---in’ all.
While many fans see music as something that can generate income forever, T-Pain said he values certainty over waiting to see how the industry changes next.
He also made it clear that selling part of his catalog did not mean he was finished making music.
