Major road works suddenly rescheduled due to 'circumstances beyond control'

Newport City Council said the revised schedule was due to "circumstances beyond its control" and affects planned improvements across the city.
A spokesman for Newport City Council said: "The updates form part of the council’s Fixing Our Roads programme, which aims to improve the condition of some of Newport’s most important and high-priority routes.

The latest changes come as Newport City Council continues to roll out its expanded Fixing Our Roads scheme, which now covers more than 55 of the city’s most critical and high-priority routes.
They added that these long-term improvements will help teams focus on addressing potholes and other road defects throughout Newport.
