Steve Morgan Associates (SMA), based on Clytha Park Road, is providing civil and structural engineering consultancy for the construction of a new battery energy storage system (BESS) facility in Dounreay, Scotland. Led by clean energy developer Root-Power, the project will be part of the UK Government's Clean Power 2030 reforms aimed at decarbonising the energy grid. Steve Morgan Associates, founded in 2000 by chartered civil engineer Steve Morgan, will design the foundations, drainage, layouts and other key infrastructure for the facility. Root-Power is part of the YLEM Energy group and focuses on storing and integrating renewable energy into the national grid.
