The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has increased the price of gold in the local market, raising the rate of 22-carat gold by Tk9,856 per bhori (11.664 grams). Following the latest revision, the price of one bhori of 22-carat gold now stands at Tk232,930, including VAT. Under the new rates, the price of 21-carat gold has increased by Tk9,448 to Tk222,491 per bhori, including VAT. The latest revision comes less than a week after BAJUS revised gold prices on 31 July, when it raised the price of 22-carat gold by Tk2,216 per bhori to Tk223,074. The price of silver produced under the traditional method has increased by Tk175 to Tk 3,033 per bhori, including VAT.
