One to die for killing minor girl in SylhetSYLHET, Aug 6, 2026 – A court here today sentenced a man to death for killing a four-year-old girl in Sadar upazila here this year. Judge Abu Obaida of the Sylhet Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal delivered the verdict this morning, Public prosecutor Md Badrul Ahmed Chowdhury confirmed. The convict is Zakir Hossain, 30, son of late Tota Mia, a resident of Sonatala village of the upazila. According to prosecution, the girl went missing from her home on May 6 this year. Later, on the night of May 11, police arrested her neighbor Zakir Hossain, 30, on charges of attempting rape and killing the girl.
