Dorset Police confirmed it received a report at 7.19pm on Wednesday, August 5 that a man had been assaulted by another man outside the Broadway pub in Castle Lane West, and that and a man aged in his 40s was taken to hospital for treatment. Emergency services also confirmed it attended an incident in the Bournemouth area at 7.14pm on Wednesday August 5. The company confirmed the individuals involved are not believed to have been patrons of the pub, and the incident took place outside the venue. The Broadway pub remains open and trading as usual.
