Local Couple Living in CarCHATTANOOGA, Tenn.– Albert Yoho and Margie Yusko call their vehicle home after being evicted from extended housing.
After paying $380.00 for a week and a half stay, the two were evicted, finding themselves ill and with no place to go besides their car.
Albert had a heart attack two months ago, and while trying to recoup in extended stay, Margie had a flare up from her COPD.
“As we’ve seen rent prices skyrocket over the past few years, we have seen folks with good full-time employment, sometimes two jobs, that are unable to keep up with their rent,” says Kelly.
Local homelessness non-profit the Chatt Foundation has found that over 4,000 individuals experience homelessness in Chattanooga each year.
