GREEN RIVER — Scott’s Bottom Nature Area has reopened following a period of rehabilitation and recovery after a fire burned 40 acres of land and a dozen structures on March 21.
The Green River Parks and Recreation Department said the site’s vegetation, soils and wildlife habitat will continue healing for years and asks visitors to help protect the area after it reopens.
Burned and dead trees remain throughout the site and can pose hazards, particularly if high winds are blowing through the area.
Visitors are urged to stay clear of these areas, remain on established pathways and use caution while visiting.
“Scott’s Bottom is a place to experience nature in all its beauty and resilience.
