The Weeknd credits Kavinsky with inspiring ‘Blinding Lights’ and ‘Save Your Tears’

The Weeknd paid tribute to the late French DJ and producer Kavinsky during a live performance last week. “‘Blinding Lights,’ ‘Save Your Tears,’ all of this is inspired by Kavinsky’s work. The Weeknd went on to perform their collaborative track ‘Odd Look', which originally appeared on Kavinsky’s 2013 debut album, ‘OutRun’. Kavinsky, the DJ, producer and musician behind the cult 2010 synthwave hit from Drive, 'Nightcall’ was found dead last week. The Weeknd was among the many cultural figures who paid tribute to Kavinsky, real name Vincent Belorgey, following his death, describing him as a “true visionary” in an Instagram story.
