by Edith Cody-RiceOn Saturday August 1, the Mississippi Mills Textile Museum was mobbed in the late afternoon by over 300 people, all attending the Tunic Show scheduled from 4-8 pm that afternoon. Organizer Laura Starkey told The Millstone that anyone could apply to enter a tunic, the show wasn’t juried. As Ms. Starkey said “It was about creative spark, finding your voice and the tunic was just the vessel”. Ballots were distributed as the public entered to encourage voting on “peoples’ choice awards” and tunics were for sale. The winners of the Peoples Choice awards wereLaura explained the genesis and organisation of the show in this article published in The Millstone on July 25 .
