Ukraine becomes an international security constant

President of the International Institute for Security Studies, KAI Professor Oleksiy Buryachenko, stated that Ukraine is gradually transforming into a key player in global security and is capable of implementing large-scale projects across the Eurasian continent.
“Ukraine is, in fact, becoming an international security constant and is already implementing global projects on the Eurasian continent with its active participation, including with partners such as Turkey,” Buryachenko said during the discussion “From Defending Ukraine to a Common Defense Space: Integration into International Defense Initiatives”, held at the Interfax-Ukraine agency on Thursday.
He emphasized that Ukrainian policy has significantly evolved during the full-scale war — from requesting supplies of individual types of weapons to developing its own effective standards, which are now becoming a benchmark for partners.
According to the expert, new formats of cooperation in the defense sphere resemble a “puzzle,” where various regional initiatives are combined, and Ukraine takes the lead in creating new security institutions.
Buryachenko stressed that strategically, Ukraine is becoming a more capable and mature state, able not only to rely on partner support but also to propose its own models of cooperation for countries in Europe, the Middle East, and the South Caucasus.
