Ask Maps, the new Gemini-powered conversational experience in Google Maps that debuted in the US in March, is expanding to Australia, Brazil, Canada, Indonesia, Japan, and Mexico, as well as to over 150 countries and territories in English. Moreover, Ask Maps is gaining access to real-time transit information and is adding support for Gemini’s Personal Intelligence system and new agentic features. First of all, Ask Maps can now understand multi-step instructions for finding and booking hotel rooms or concert tickets, ordering food, and more. This will let Ask Maps access personal information stored in Gmail and Google Calendar to offer more personalized answers. Once you select a restaurant, Ask Maps can automatically add the dish you’re looking for directly to your cart so you can easily review and complete your order,” the Google Maps team explained.
