TAHOE CITY, Calif. – Celebrate Tahoe City’s 163rd anniversary on Saturday, Aug. 8, with a day dedicated to the community’s rich history, featuring free Historic Walking Tours. Presented by the Tahoe City Downtown Association and Mountain Town Walking Tours, the free guided tours depart at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., offering participants an engaging look at the people, landmarks, and events that shaped Tahoe City into the vibrant mountain community it is today. The walking tours explore downtown Tahoe City while sharing stories of the area’s early settlement, historic buildings, and cultural heritage. Tahoe City Day is an opportunity to celebrate the community’s heritage while supporting local businesses, restaurants, shops, and cultural attractions. Visitors are encouraged to spend the day exploring downtown and discovering everything Tahoe City has to offer including three museums.
