Ahead of this weekend’s Quakecon, it’s time to frag like it’s 1996! If you happen to own the PS5 or PS4 version of id Software’s iconic Quake, then good news: it’s just been updated with an all-new 19-level campaign, designed by MachineGames. Dawn of the Machine, developed to celebrate the series’ 30th anniversary, is free for everyone who owns a copy of the iconic FPS – and also includes all-new music and a fresh deathmatch map. Some fans believe there may be more surprises at Quakecon this week, with Raven’s brilliant 2009 Wolfenstein reboot also rumoured to get a re-release. There’s never been a better time to own a copy of Quake – well, other than in 1996, I suppose.
