The first in the series is Prince Edward County, which will be followed by Buckingham County and Cumberland County. Virginia State Police’s 2025 Crime in Virginia report shows a sizable decrease in criminal offenses in Prince Edward County and Farmville. The report shows total reported crimes in Prince Edward County dropped to 816 in 2025 from 1,064 in 2024. The total includes offenses reported by the Prince Edward County Sheriff’s Office, Farmville Police Department (FPD) and Virginia State Police. CRIMES AGAINST PERSONThe report shows that Prince Edward County recorded 294 crimes against person in 2025, down from 327 in 2024.
