The Toronto Blue Jays provided a health update for injured infielder Luis Urias, who left Thursday’s game against the Chicago Cubs.
After Blue Jays manager John Schneider and the trainer came out to check on him, Urias stayed in the game.
“Luis Urias left Thursday’s Blue Jays game due to right quad discomfort, per John Schneider Urias will get an MRI on Friday in Philadelphia,” Blue Jays reporter Arden Zwelling wrote on X.
The Blue Jays were already down an infielder for Thursday’s game, as star first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. sat out his second straight game due to hamstring tightness.
The Blue Jays have the 30th-ranked offense in all of MLB, so Urias has been a pleasant surprise with the bat as the Blue Jays have needed every run they can score this season.
