The National Iranian Oil Company experienced significant financial operational strain following reports that a state-owned financial institution froze its primary bank accounts over accumulated debt.
The state bank action occurs as the broader Iranian economy faces severe fiscal pressure resulting from the American naval blockade surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.
According to reports published by Saudi news outlet Al Arabiya, the Bank of Industry and Mine unexpectedly executed a complete freeze on accounts belonging to the National Iranian Oil Company.
The head of the National Iranian Oil Company acknowledged the severe financial restrictions with deep regret while evaluating the operational future of the state enterprise.
"We hope that with the end of the war and a return to normal, this issue will be solved, and the National Iranian Oil Company can return to normal and contributing operations," National Development Fund head Mehdi Ghazanfari added regarding the ongoing conflict.
