SAN CARLOS — The Butte fire on the San Carlos Apache Reservation grew slightly Wednesday, but so did containment. The fire, located southwest of Chiricahua Butte, grew to 676 acres and containment is at 20 percent. The fire ignited from a lightning strike on Aug. 3, and is burning grass, brush and juniper. Fire crews have been concentrating on keeping the fire east of 1500 Road, near Dehorn Ranch, while air attacks have been focusing on the east and northeast portions of the fire. Commentscomments
