LANSING, Mich — The Lansing Fire Department has appointed Kevin Neely as its new assistant chief. Neely, who joined the department in 2004, has served in several leadership roles, including acting battalion chief, captain and paramedic in the Operations Division. In addition to his work with the department, Neely has served as an instructor for Lansing Community College’s Firefighter I & II and Fire Science programs. “The Lansing Fire Department continues to move ahead with strong, steady leadership with Chief Neely joining Fire Chief Edwards-Clemons and fellow Assistant Chief Odom,” Mayor Andy Schor said in a statement. Neely will begin serving full-time as assistant chief on Aug. 10.
