Number of cyclosporiasis cases in Michigan jumps to more than 12,000

(WXYZ) — The number of cyclosporiasis cases in Michigan has increased to 12,218, according to the latest numbers from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
MDHHS also reported that 193 people have been hospitalized with symptoms from cyclosporiasis as of July 30.
Regarding the deaths, MDHHS released this statement:"Two deaths have been identified as part of the cyclosporiasis outbreak affecting Michigan.
According to medical records, both individuals had significant underlying health conditions that may have been impacted by cyclosporiasis and dehydration.
