Christchurch Methodist Hall, which is based on King Street, was put up for auction for £200,000 after being deemed "surplus to the requirement" for the Methodist Mission in Great Yarmouth. The 600 square metre building was sold earlier this month for an undisclosed amount via Auction House East Anglia. Christchurch was built in 1854 and was known first as King Street Congregational Chapel. Its closure in 2023 followed a decline in attendance, the cost of maintaining the building and a three-year-long parking dispute with Norfolk County Council. Signs were put up on the land by Norfolk County Council stating that parking was banned on the verge or footway.
