Firefighters responded to the church on Trombley Road around 3:15 a.m. as flames quickly spread through the building. Despite the extensive damage, no firefighters or civilians were injured, according to ClickOnDetroit. Pastor Manuel Florescu told ClickOnDetroit he received the call around 3:20 a.m. and rushed to the church, where he watched flames consume a place that has served as a spiritual home for generations. “This is more than a building for us,” Florescu told ClickOnDetroit. “The church is not the building, the church is the people,” he told ClickOnDetroit.
