Southern California air quality regulators Thursday ordered Lineage Logistics, the operators of the burned Boyle Heights warehouse, to conduct more extensive odor mitigation and contiguously monitor harmful chemicals, such as ammonia.
This week, Lineage said 20% of the food waste, about 26 million pounds, was left to clear out.
The South Coast AQMD had said air quality regulators have received nearly 4,000 odor complaints related to the warehouse since July 12.
Among the several proposals, $750,000 from the supervisor's discretionary funds could be directed to Lineage warehouse fire victims.
Once the food waste is completely out of the warehouse, Lineage must conduct thorough power-washing and disinfection within seven days, the regulator stipulated.
