Where other recent impersonation cases nationally have played out at traffic stops or front doors, Linares ran her scheme almost entirely through motions filed directly with the immigration court, according to court records cited in the Justice Department's announcement.
She used that invented title to submit motions asking judges to dismiss removal proceedings, framing each filing as though it carried the government's own backing.
Investigators later traced at least three more motions carrying the same invented title and nearly identical language, all filed with the immigration court around the same stretch of time, CBS News Miami reported.
Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Melissa Roca Shaw is prosecuting the case, docketed in the Southern District of Florida as case number 26-cr-20085.
