Frank J. Genareo, 74, of New Castle passed away the morning of Sept. 2, 2025, at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born Aug. 31, 1951, in New Castle, Frank was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Wolos-zyn Genareo. Frank is survived by his be-loved wife, the former Deborah Mastropietro. The two were married Jan. 15, 1972. Frank had worked for over 20 years as a maintenance repairman at McKeever Environmental Center at Slippery Rock University. Frank was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. He enjoyed taking care of his home, working in his yard and washing his cars. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Frank's greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his two children, Frank Genareo Jr. and Vicki Sparano and fiancé, Stanley Okusewsky; two brothers, Ron Genareo (Phyllis) and John Genareo (Delores); his sister, Mary Smith (Paul); three grandchildren, Alexis Sparano ( Zach Yanssens-Ream), Daniel Sparano and Marco Genareo; and one great-grandchild, Mina. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his daughter, Suzanne Genareo. Honoring his wishes, a Mass of Christian burial will be held for the family at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Father Aaron Kriss will officiate. Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
