(ABC 6 News) — Olmsted County Parks and Trails announced Thursday that reservations have opened for the new campground at Oxbow Park. “Our goal was to create a high-quality, accessible campground that meets the needs of today’s campers,” said Olmsted County Parks and Trails Director Karlin Ziegler. Olmsted County said the decision to develop a new campground was driven by the persistent flooding that has occurred at the current site. The new campground is located on higher ground in the park, which Olmsted County says will provide a safer, more sustainable experience for visitors. “Moving the campground away from the flood-prone area allows us to protect both the natural landscape and the investments we make at the park.”
