Janet Finch-Saunders said she supported the move by major supermarkets following rising concerns over wildfire risks and is now urging remaining retailers to do the same.
Exceptionally dry conditions in parts of Wales have increased fire dangers, prompting renewed scrutiny of barbecue sales.
Janet Finch-Saunders, Senedd Member for Bangor Conwy Môn, said: "I welcome the decision by some major supermarkets to remove disposable barbeques from sale during this period of heightened wildfire risk.
She has long campaigned for action on this issue and previously wrote to supermarkets in 2022 requesting they stop selling disposable barbecues during periods of hot, dry weather.
The recent wildfires have had a significant impact on our communities, emergency services, farmers and our natural environment.
