Cyclists from as far as London touch down in the Borders for community bike ride

Italian restaurant Franco’s, located on Port Brae in the town, held its annual Gran Fondo event on Sunday, July 26.
Three routes were on offer for participants – the Corto, which is 44km long, the Medio (82km) and the Lungo (110km).
Attendees travelled from as far as London to take part, socialise and meet new people, complete with a free breakfast from Franco’s itself.
Francisco De Martino, owner of Francos, said: “People were happy and enjoyed the food and the ride.
Participants received a custom Santini jersey, breakfast and coffee before their ride and a welcome glass of fizz on return.
