Italian restaurant Franco’s, located on Port Brae in the town, held its annual Gran Fondo event on Sunday, July 26. Three routes were on offer for participants – the Corto, which is 44km long, the Medio (82km) and the Lungo (110km). Attendees travelled from as far as London to take part, socialise and meet new people, complete with a free breakfast from Franco’s itself. Francisco De Martino, owner of Francos, said: “People were happy and enjoyed the food and the ride. Participants received a custom Santini jersey, breakfast and coffee before their ride and a welcome glass of fizz on return.
