MINNEAPOLIS — A celebration of life for longtime Gophers baseball coach John Anderson will be held on campus Monday inside Maturi Pavilion. The west entrance will open for attendees at 5 p.m., with the service scheduled to start at 6 p.m.Anderson died unexpectedly on July 26 at age 71. In all, Anderson was part of the baseball program as a player, assistant and head coach for 49 years. In his 43 years as the head coach, his teams won a Big Ten-record 1,390 games and appeared in 18 NCAA tournaments.
