Joby Aviation expects to conduct its first flights under the US eVTOL Integration Pilot Program (eIPP) in September 2026, with the initial operations taking place in Texas, the company said on August 5, 2026, alongside its second quarter results. The California-based manufacturer maintained its target of carrying its first passengers before the end of 2026. The program allows participants to operate aircraft that have not yet received type certification, under agreements negotiated directly with the FAA, in order to generate operational data to inform future rulemaking. Joby was named in several winning applications, giving it access to early operations in 10 states.
