It begins at 7pm with events for children up to 14, building up to the Ladies’ Lammas Race and the men’s Hat and Ribbon Race for runners aged 15 and over, with the men’s race reserved for Inverkeithing residents. The Hat and Ribbon Race dates back centuries, with local shepherds once competing “off the cuff” to win a hat for themselves and ribbons for their sweethearts. Last year's parade before the Hat and Ribbon Race. The following day, Saturday, attention turns to Ballast Bank for Inverkeithing Highland Games. Inverkeithing Highland Games are back this weekend.
