Plans to refurbish the canopy at the front of Shrub Hill Station in Worcester have been submitted to the city council. Network Rail is proposing to replace the existing canopy structure, including the glazing and framing. There has been a railway station at Worcester Shrub Hill since 1852 and the current building, which is Grade II listed, was built in 1865. But Network Rail’s Access for All programme means it is being used to improve accessibility at Shrub Hill. Both Shrub Hill and Worcester Foregate Street are also set to get new ticket barriers in the next couple of years.
