The council has launched a ten-week public consultation on a proposed Dog Control Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) that would give officers clearer powers to tackle irresponsible dog ownership.
If adopted, the PSPO would require dog owners to clean up after their pets and carry a suitable means of doing so.
Councillor Rob Adams, executive board member for strong communities, culture and sport, said: "We know most dog owners act responsibly, but dog fouling and poor dog control can have a real impact on our communities and the places people use every day.
The proposed order would allow the council to issue fixed penalty notices where authorised officers witness dog control offences.
Wychavon District Council is encouraging responses from all members of the community, including residents, businesses, visitors, and regular users of public spaces.
