Their success came in the local heat of The Rotary Young Writers Competition, organised earlier this year by Builth Wells Rotary Club. Martha Jones and Matilda Batten were selected as winners in the Intermediate and Senior categories respectively at the Ysgol Calon Cymru heat. Both entries advanced to the national final, where Matilda Batten placed second and received a trophy and a money voucher, while Martha Jones earned a certificate of achievement.
