Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Newtown Fire Station were called to an incident in the Trehafren area at 12.29am on August 6. Firefighters attended a fire inside a first-floor flat and rescued one casualty and one dog from the property. Crews used a hose reel jet, two breathing apparatus sets, and a ladder to tackle the blaze. The incident was brought under control and firefighters left the scene at 1.54am. Two fire appliances were seen outside the property while emergency services dealt with the incident.
