Man denies arson charge over huge fire that destroyed former Llandrindod library

Now, Michael Martin, 32, has appeared before Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court accused of setting fire to the building, which is owned by Powys County Council.
At a plea and trial preparation hearing on Thursday, August 6, Martin, of Lant Avenue, Llandrindod Wells, entered a not guilty plea to a charge of arson.
The fire at the old library in Llandrindod broke out last on June 20.
Martin was granted bail with conditions, including residing at his Llandrindod Wells address and not contacting a prosecution witness.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Llandrindod Wells, Rhayader, Llanwrtyd Wells, Builth Wells, Llanidloes, Aberystwyth, Carmarthen, Knighton and Hay-on-Wye attended, alongside a crew from Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.
