Four endangered Barbary macaques, Fia, Gigi, Harper and Annalee, were introduced to Pembrokeshire’s Folly Farm to join an established pair, effectively doubling the size of the resident troop.
Rosie Badger, primate keeper and assistant zoo manager at Folly Farm, said: "It's always nerve-wracking to introduce new arrivals into an established group.
Long-time residents Vivian and Leila have called Folly Farm home since around 2008 and had become accustomed to living in the enclosure alone.
Earlier this year, Folly Farm unveiled a new enclosure, Macaque Medina, designed to better reflect the animals' natural behaviour and welfare needs.
The expanded macaque troop is expected to become a highlight for guests, particularly during the summer holidays.
