It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rodney William Griffith Sr., 77, on Sept. 8, 2025, in New Wilmington, Pennsylvani, due to natural causes.
Born Nov. 20, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan, Rodney lived a life marked by creativity, service and deep family bonds.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1971, a period that shaped his life.
Rodney was a man of many talents and passions. A gifted artist across multiple media, he leaves behind a legacy of artistry and craftsmanship that reflects his creativity and attention to detail. His love for music was ever present in his life, as was his enthusiasm for cars and motorcycles — interests that brought him joy and connection throughout the years.
He was a beloved father and brother whose presence will be deeply missed by those who knew him. Rodney is survived by his sons Rodney (Mandy) Griffith Jr. and James (Jamie) Griffith Sr., as well as his cherished grandson, James Griffith Jr. He also leaves behind his brothers, Ronald (Connie) Griffith and Harry Griffith; sisters, Deborah (Charles) Fox, Carol (Robert) Tullis and Charlene (James) Aubel.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mildred Griffith; and by his infant son, John Griffith.
Rest easy Rodney. May his memory bring comfort and peace to those who loved him.
