The incident occurred just before 2pm on Thorley Street in Bishop’s Stortford, involving a cyclist and a Nissan vehicle. Despite the efforts of emergency services, the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Sergeant Chris Whales, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire road policing unit, offered condolences to the victim’s family and appealed for witnesses. "We are continuing to piece together what happened and ask for anyone with information to report it to the police. Road closures were put in place while emergency services attended the scene, including the ambulance and air ambulance.
