The Basildon Post Office branch, located inside TG Jones on the town square, will shut its doors on Monday, September 21, 2026, following a restructuring plan announced by the high street retailer. The TG Jones will close as part of a court-ordered restructuring plan September 25 for the WHS successor, with a closing down sale planned ahead of the closure. "Regrettably, Basildon Post Office branch is affected by this restructuring and is due to close on Monday 21 September 2026. A spokesperson for TG Jones said: "As we work to secure the long-term future of TG Jones, we have confirmed that our Basildon store will close. "We would like to thank all of our colleagues for their commitment and the contribution they have made to TG Jones."
