More than 60,000 rural properties across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire have been upgraded as part of Project Gigabit, a government-backed scheme aimed at improving digital infrastructure in hard-to-reach areas. "This milestone is proof that Project Gigabit has put better digital opportunities into local communities across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire that have had to work around patchy connections for too long." Villages around Huddersfield, Bradford, Barnsley, and York are among those to benefit. "Through Project Gigabit, we're proud to be working alongside the UK Government to bring gigabit-capable broadband to rural communities across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire." Project Gigabit has already upgraded more than 1.3 million premises across the UK, focusing on rural locations where coverage has historically been limited.
